Newbie to Bangkok

Looking for a tour guide to orient myself with the city for a few days and need some reasonably priced suggestions??

It's a relatively easy city to get around with the BTS and MRT and taxi availability. I think you can have a great time exploring on your own.

1) ride the BTS

2) ride the MRT

look at the map and synch with google maps for location of attractions

From MRT Petchaburi walk to ASOK pier and grab a boat on the San Saep canal ...again check google maps to see where you want to get off

From BTS Saphan Taksin grab a Chao Praya tourist boat (with guy on megaphone) and see the various stops and attractions accessible from the river. Afterwards you then can use the cheaper orange flag boats to travel.

Traveling in BKK using mass transit usually involves several modes of transport. Don't be one of those expats who never ventures more than 100 meters from an MRT or BTS stop. take the BTS or MRT to location , then grab a boat, grab a moto or taxi or bus to final dest. Good luck
