Somewhere out there in the US someone is already thinking how this worst shooting sofar can be topped and guess what; he will not have any problem in gathering guns and ammunition to make it happen. There are no lessons learned from whichever shooting that already has occurred. There are no excuses for making these things possible in whatever way you look at them. Making things easy for religious or other nutcases is criminal IMHO.

I stayed at Mandalay casino back in 2012 , a nice area of the Strip.  But there is no strict security at the casinos in Vegas. Anyone can walk into the casino with guns , no security checks, at all,  only at the night clubs. 

 

There are gun stores on every street corner , even me as a foreigner can walk in and buy a gun legally  so it's really crazy . I'm surprised there's been no big massacres until now. 

 

What they need to do now is to install metal detectors in all casinos.  and no guns allowed unless you work there. The casinos must be just as safe as the airports or people will just stop coming to Vegas.

Of course not!  I'm an American and I have my 2nd Amendment rights not just to "firearms" but also to high-capacity, semi-auto and fully auto rifles that I can use for my recreational hunting...like killing deer and goats and rabbits... and dozens of people at a country music concert.

You must be kidding me. The Casinos have extensive monitoring of every person that walks in the door,. facial recognition databases to ferret out criminals and card counters. Cameras that can take a picture of the mole on your ear for Id purposes....

This is the damage that one person can do with (I would imagine) legally purchased weapons. If this does not preempt a change to current gun control then there is no hope. It should have all supporters of 'own what you like because it is our right' rethinking the logic of that view.

Was in MGM Grand Signature Suites and the Casino in Vegas just a few months ago. These properties are all connected by enclosed walkways and moving sidewalks. None of the entrances had any metal detectors or security check points. 

This is nothing to do with gun laws. From the sound of video, that was clearly not any kind of weapon you can have legally if you are not law enforcement or military. So a gun that is already banned, in other words

The more tightly controlled guns are, the harder it will be to get hold of the ones that affect multiple victims in short order.
