alohatiger
The Sony Service Center wants me to buy a new camera. Go figure. They say it has some water damage. Some water or water vapor must've seeped in in my travels. Hmm, okay. I'd like to take it to some Thai whiz first. Got any suggestions? I think I need a specialist because this Sony camera is THIN - about 4 credit cards thick. And it may have special eletronics (mini, etc.) It can play videos or show pics, and take videos. It freezes if I try to take a still photo, however. Also, it resets and I have to input the time and date each time. Any ideas? Thanks again! Aloha and mahalos, Alohatiger PS: This is cross-post from the Bangkok forum, just found this photo forum, sorries!
astral
I think Sony are telling your the cost of repair will be more than buying a new camera..................
sylvafern
If they are telling you to get a new camera, then yours is probably beyond repair. I've always found the sony service centre great - my old sony video camera needs repairs a couple of times a year and the 500 baht or so it costs me each time keeps my camera going until it eventually dies a complete death. PEH
My sony camea had serious problems too. Luckily I had a warranty on it, but I could only use it america. When one of my friends from BKK went to the states, I asked her take in on the plane with her and mail it to my mom (avoiding customs). My mom took it to Best Buy where I bought it and they replaced my camera with a newer version. Not a bad deal. Recently another friend brought my new camera back. I'm so glad I paid for the warranty. At first I thought I wasted my money.
