Apparently i was the white guy interested in IT stuff in Myanmar. (i was interested...it worked....)

Failing that, a hungry school kid who rollerskated up to a chip van (early 80's) for some BBC thing.

(oh, and several CCTV escapades - we won't go into those).

Yep. My 15 minutes of fame came about 5 years ago when I was chosen by British American to be their token ajarn on some channel 5 talkshow here.

The whole nation watched as I was interviewed by a lovely young actress, Milk, I believe her name was. I also had to present some computers to a couple of scroungers that had written in. All in all a rather fun day.

I'm just waiting for the right script to come along for my next project. :o

See you at the emmys.

Not sure if this poll means tv in the Kingdom or homecountry. Anyways, back in the early 80's as a young fella , I got to be on Saturday morning tv and hang out with a guy dressed up as a giant possum and a robot whose antics where run by a commodore 64 , plus the mullet haired human host. My only claim to fame :o

I was on an ABC sports special in the US about 30 years ago. I got the largest wave in a 30 foot set one Winter at Waimea in the Islands then single handedly saved 3 others that took off before me, wiped out and lost their boards. I knew it was me from the trunks I was wearing and the pigment pattern on my board. The cameras didn't catch my face as my bird's nest covered my face.

What a trip...I was on acid at the time...

I had my 45 seconds of fame about 10 years ago :o .

A friend of mine was working as a salesman for a Catamaran Dealer. A local TV station was doing a show called something like "High Tech Toys for Fathers Day" and were including a brief segment on the F27 Cats. Anyway, he asked me if I could crew for him when they filmed the bit. We took the Camera guy and the Sound girl out on the boat with us and not only showed them how the boat was set up and sailed, but also tranfered them from our boat to a camera boat and back. The Sound girl felt awfully seasick :D but had to stay below to keep her equipment dry! The end result of about two or three hours sailing was edited down to about 45 seconds, but there were some good shots of both myself and my buddy Austin.

He died of a heart attack a few years later, I'm glad that I still have a copy of the video (somewhere back in California now) to remember the good times we had together.

Rex Hunts Footy show did a documentry on footy in SEAsia in about 97/98.

At the time I was living in Singas and playing for the Singapore Wombats. The footy show taped a couple of our training sessions and came to the pub with us to do some interveiws, they interveiwed my Singaporean GF to find out what they thought of Aussie rules football, her comment was "I like the shorts".

Anyway the footy show came with us to HCM City and taped the game we played against the Saigon Saints, of course we won.

The Singapore Wombats were sponsored by Fosters at that point so beer was free.

Meanwhile my older brother was in Aust. enjoying a BBQ with is mates when Rexies footy show hit half time, they were all sitting around watching when next thing there is me taking a mark and kicking a goal on National TV, needless to say he dropped his beer and cr@pped his pants cos there was his little brother on TV playing an international game of footy.

I never did see the program and to this day I would love to get a copy.

I have also been featured in the newspaper and interveiwed on the radio as part of a drug rehab I was working for, but that was a long time ago.

2001 I competed in a white water river race in Perth Aust. called "The Avon Descent" it is a 2 day 140 odd kilometre race through grade 4 rapids, we actually race 8 or 10 horsepower dinghies we build ourselves out of polystyrene and fibreglass, I ended up on TV with that one too. Have a look at Power Dinghy Racing to get a bit of an idea of what I am talking about.

here is a pic of an all girl team jumping a rapid...mismaud5.jpg

I played bass in a rock/reggae/funkband called KIF KIF in the nineties. We did many TV gigs, CBC, Radio-Canada, CTV, TV5, local tv stations and many radio gigs as well. One of the local tv stations had us sign a waiver for a show they recorded in their studio, the sound track was just craaap and they aired it zillions of times.

Most embarassing moment was after the last tune in a packed amphitheatre. We all stood at the front of the stage and bowed to the crowd, took a few steps back and I tripped on something, lost my balance and caught and broke a finger :D in a monitor tweeter and fell on my a*s.

Braaaavooo! :o

i have seen power dinghy racing on television before, and all i can say is, " YOU GUYS ARE NUTS" :o you must be ready for a heart attack after you finish from all the adrenalin flowing. maybe 20 years ago i would have tried that, now too old, couldn't take all the excitement.

more power to you my friend for being able to do that. :D

in the eighties, whilst living in the soi ngaam duplee area of bangkok, an agent for a tv casting company persuaded about 6 of us to leave the blue fox coffee shop and be extras on a tv series about the life of a famous thai boxer called porn kingpetch.

we played the falang hangers on and travelling supporters and press whilst the thai boxer demolished the american contender. we were told to act falangish,ie,loud and disrespectful and when sitting to put our feet on the tables.

we spent two days at the studios, were paid 500baht a day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

after the show had been aired,i was recognised on buses twice.

one of the group actually got a freebie off a patpong lovely when she recognised him as a tv "star".

Yes which character do you play on CSI Miami J? That show is very popular on the pearl farm here.

I am currently in my own film, a documentary about a group of scientists, forestry rangers and a 7 foot 4 inch former Chicago Bulls basketball star traisping around dense jungles on an island off the coast of Myanmar looking for rare animals and rogue elephants. It was great fun to make.

We had to put up with leeches, snakes, the local plod, and a regular shortage of lime for our Gin and Tonics to complete the expedition.

Link for the promo is here if anyone wants to download it, although its 22mb and it doesnt work in every browser. If anyone does manage to see it, let me know what you think!

Anyone been in a blue movie? :o

I've been on TV quite a few times, mainly back in the UK. I managed to get my pretty blond haired, blue eyed face on Tiswas (the swapshop bit), and also one of the kiddie programs where the kids get asked questions about stuff and the funny answers get televised, i cant for the life of me remember the name of the program!

I've also been on Thai TV, almost every channel, about 18mths ago... not telling you why though :o

Quite a few times on Thai TV sports, when I was racing karts. The major meetings and championships used to get extensive coverage.

The comentators gave me the nick of "Lung Nuat" (uncle moustache) on account of a bushy upper lip. I stll laugh when I hear their comentary on old tapes.

I have a few "screen shots" on my computer, but dont know how to paste them here??

.......... I tried cut/copy and paste Bronco but it doesnt work mate :D
