Bit of a dilemma. Already went through interview for annual renewal. Now I have  Extension of Stay - Come back on Oct 27.

I must travel before as in next week to Vietnam for a week. No choice as locked in.

When are the Immigration closed dates for the whole week 23 - 27?

23rd closed

24th I will still be in Vietnam

25th ?

26th closed

27th?

If I don't make it on the 27th, does this mean my extension of stay is void? Or ok or what is the best to do? Can I go to immigration and get them to extend it to Nov 27?

The cremation and timing of my extension and travel to Vietnam is a bit of a head ache.

I assume you have a under consideration stamp with a report back date of October 27th. The undersaturation stamp allows you stay in the country until until your extension is approved. The report back date is just that not when the underconsideration ends.

I have you gotten a re-entry permit for the underconsideration re-report back date.

Immigration will be closed on the 23rd and the 26th. Immigration will be open on the 27th.

Yes it is the under consideration report back as normal..

No not yet on my last re-entry that expired in Sept.

What do you suggest? I would actually like to come back on the 27th and stay with Thai family in Bangkok, so not coming back for the under consideration come back date.

Get a new multiple re-entry and will immigration postpone one more month?

At least that's how it stands at the moment. 1507625.GIF

You will need to get a re-entry permit that will allow you to enter the country until the 27th,

A re-entry permit will add no days.

Not sure how immigration will react when entering on the report back date.

You  could go to immigration on the 30th to get the one year extension stamp if your application has been approved.

I will just go and ask. Maybe they will adjust and give another additional month. Have had them do it before when came to see if approved and they said not ready yet come back in another month.

Oh, your correct, the will not give a multiple re-entry as it is only as good as your stay here is allowed to.

In a post you said that your last re-entry permit expired in September?

I'm sure you already know, but If you are planning on going to Vietnam, then do not forget to get a new re-entry permit, you must get a new one for the under consideration period, which will be only valid up to your report back date of 27th October 2017.

Thank you Mattd. Yes, been doing this for years, but as this year is different (Cremation) I was seeing about the dates being closed and if I didn't make the 27th permission to stay date, but was back in Thailand as I plan, and is it permissible.

I will see tomorrow.
