50k Reward for a Lost Dog

CityNews – A letter from Irit Drori in hope to find her dog, Willie who is believed to be in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai.

Our beloved 12-year old white Pekingese dog, Willie, went missing in Koh Pha Ngan on August 7th. He was recovering from an eye injury and was probably under stress when he escaped from under our balcony’s gate. Many friends and strangers on the island were looking for Willie for 2 months with no success.

He is now believed to be in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai. “CARLOS” ANDRES KISHIMOTO CAGEJAMA and his wife, MALIWAN FUNTEY, contacted me on Monday, October 2nd, to let me know they have my dog said they found him in Ko Pha Ngan and didn’t think he had an owner. They became aware of my search. Maliwan was going to bring Willie back to Koh Phangan, but then they had a change of heart and cut communication with me. They haven’t answered their phone once since October 3rd.

Willie wasn't stolen, he was found as a stray.

The oldest dog scam in the world, lets see how often this crops up now we have publicly.

With a collar, indicating he belonged to someone,

if a herd of cows escaped from a field, and were wandering

about, does that mean anyone could claim them....NO.

Quite a lot of unowned dogs wandering Thailand, I have seen a few loose cows, but not  significant compared to dogs.

", I have seen a few loose cows, ", you should have grabbed one, free steaks.

Reminds me of a movie by director Eiji Okuda. Involves a shady policeman who kidnaps small dogs keeping them safe at his Grannies house. When he "finds" the dogs he returns them to lonely women who feel indebted to reward him.

Probably swallowed up by some street dogs by now, or been popped in a wok. Yum Yum!

There cant be many people who would find a dog on KPG (with dodgy looking eyes) and then go through with all the trouble of taking it to Doi Saket. Sounds like BS.

They didn't fit in my bicycle shopping basket.

If someone is knowingly keeping someone else's dog , as in this case they are, since they had communications and they know who's dog it is and that the owner wants it back, then indeed it is stealing.

There were "communications"? why do there need to be communications?  only one communication is needed .

"you have our dog? Thank you so much, we will come and get him immediately  and compensate you for all your trouble and expense"

I suspect there is more to this story.

Hopefully this matter will be resolved soon , many people see their dog as a part of the family, and such loss can be to say the least , distressing.

Really - so you did not read that.

I read about this on the FB groups and saw the lady's original request for help. It is totally legitimate. She's been to the police the day she came to Chiang Mai and the police want to help but can't get to the case right away. They told her they could help her in about 30 days -that was about a week ago.

Apparently the couple that found the dog told her that they had become attached to the little dog and didn't want to give him back and stopped taking her calls. She was looking for a P.I. to help her in the mean time, until the police could get to her case.
