However, his government was ready to take care of all those affected. It is not impossible under any circumstances, terrible choice of words for someone 3 years at the helm as if this just happened today. This government has missed another opportunity to gain credibility on how it intends to tackle such guaranteed problems year in year out. I recall dredging of canals in Bangkok only happened (thankfully) in the last six months as a result of direct instruction from the Monarchy. It is not that difficult to implement some immediate waste management protocols to assist drainage, while the longer scheme plans get built. What about continuous well pumping? What about management if dams? Prayut needs to accept he is not managing a series of inactive air force bases and the people living within their walls are not his subjects. Its all subs, tanks, F15's, US black hawks and Hi Speed rail servicing China's agenda. If only he were so brave to accept accountability for the way he's managing the Country. gk10002000
Thailand has been enduring seasonal flooding since right after the Ice Age passed, and it is not going to stop. You keep building civilization structures and putting people in flood prone areas, well, deal with it. With some massive water management programs many areas could be better off. but that will require some significant damming and channeling projects. Possible, but unlikely. Sad to see some parts of the country suffering drought while other parts are flooded.
