Honestbee creates a ‘buzz’ in Thailand

The SIngapore-based online concierge and delivery service honestbee has announced “six months of great success” in Thailand since launching in the Kingdom in March this year.

The company says it is gearing up for American Thanksgiving and Halloween celebrations. It has also announced a partnership with with Thai supermarket chain Villa Market to deliver its exclusive products to customers’ homes.

 

“The one-stop shop continues to attract the trendsetters of Bangkok and extend to the outer reaches of the metropolitan area,” honestbee says. “One of the latest and most exciting merchant partnership which honestbee has in Thailand is with CP Fresh Mart shops, part of Thai conglomerate CP Group.

 

“This began in September, with products being delivered to you directly from the supplier at cheaper than retail price.”

Other outlets that have partnered with honestbee in Thailand are restaurant and bakery S&P and the Australian chain, Jones the Grocer.

 

Concierge shoppers, also known as ‘shopper bees’, select the best quality fresh produce and grocery items which are then delivered on the same day, within the next available hourly timeslot.

 

In addition to grocery deliveries, honestbee launched a curated restaurant food delivery service in Bangkok in June. 

 

Under honestbee’s grocery vertical, the most popular fruit ordered is superfood avocado. Along with canned foods, baby products such as nappies (diapers), are high on the list. Gourmet grocery orders for wine, steak and cheese orders are increasing too, the company said. 

 

Bounthay Khammanyvong, country manager of honestbee Thailand, said a “buzz” has been created since the launch.

 

“We’re one of the strongest markets in the region in terms of adoption rate, and in just six months, honestbee has become a recognised and trusted brand in Thailand. The country is an e-commerce hub and the concept of on-demand online services appeals to customers, particularly busy Bangkok urbanites.”
