Trat beaches prepare for tourists seeking multi-coloured jellyfish

By The Nation

Local fishermen in beach communities in Trat’s Mueang district are gearing up for the return of tourists in search of the multi-coloured moon jellyfish.

With the heavy rains ending and the seawater becoming clearer, the jellyfish become visible. Already, some jellyfish have been sighted in the shallow seas off the beach at Ban Klong Son village in Tambon Laem Klad of Mueang district.

Local fisherman Apichai Wongthong, 42, said the village is ready for an influx of tourists, who pay Bt100 each to view the jellyfish from a boat.

Each boat can hold four tourists. Children travel for free, he said.

You pay first then (maybe) you can see...

How was your recent holiday trip to Thailand?

Well, they confiscated my E-cigarette at the airport and fined me for possession after waiting in line for more than an hour, there was no music at the bars, I had to sit on the blazing hot sand on the beach because they banned deckchairs and umbrellas, as well as beer. I had to pay another fine for disturbing the maritime life because my sandwich fell in the water on a snorkel trip, my wife won’t have sex with me because she felt dirty after taking a dip between turds and waste water in Pattaya. I got a broken arm from the accident of our tour bus due to brake failure. On the way to buy painkiller at the 7-Eleven I was robbed off my golden necklace, I got arrested in a drug bust at a disco due to my purple rain in a urine test caused by antihistamine for my allergy. But everything turned out fine after they told me I have the chance to watch some multicolored jellyfish, if I pay 100 baht for the boat trip.

100 baht for Thais, 1000 for you.
