Moving House. Some Guidance Please.

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys. I would like some advice please regarding moving house. I'll soon be moving from Udon Thani to Sakon Nakhon, which means a change of province and Immigration Office of course.

I'm currently on a marriage extension through Udon Thani office and I'm getting some very conflicting information regarding notification of my move.

Do I report my move to the office in Sakon Nakhon or to my original office in Udon, where my file is held?

Do I report immediately on moving, or do I report the fact on my next 90 day report, which is due in December?

Each time I research this on-line, I come up with a different answer, including one that said that report the fact to an address in Bangkok! Not very likely I would have thought.

If anyone out there has some practical experience and knowledge on this scenario, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks in anticipation.

You will only need to report to Sakon Nakhon immigration.

They will likely want TM30 report submitted to report your presence. And perhaps a TM28 change of address form as well.

You will need proof of your new residence such as a rental agreement with signed copies of the owners house book and ID card attached.

  • You report to Sakon Nakhon.
  • You will need to submit a change of address form TM.28, and possible a TM.30 from the owner, house-master or possessor of the new property.
  • You should report immediately (within 24 hours), but that's not usually strictly enforced.
  • If you wait until your next 90 day report it would be best to date the move for that time.
  • You won't be able to make a 90 day report at the new office until a change of address has been filed.

I've moved 3 times, 2 different offices.

Just reported to new office with;

1. Completed TM28.

2. Completed TM30.

3. Passport + Copies of;

- Passport homepage.

- Last Visa.

- Last extension.

- Last entry stamp.

4. TM6 Departure Card + Copy

5. Map pinpointing and detailing place of residence.

6. Copy of House owners Tabien Baan.

7. Copy of House owners ID card.

All copies signed.

In and out 20 minutes, no problems.

quite true; in my case., i was advised to file the change of address Before trying a 90 day at the new address, or the new IO would not accept the 90; their local variation

Thanks for all your advice guys. All seems straightforward to me. (Makes a change for Thailand!)

Big move is on for this coming week and I've already downloaded the required forms and located the IO in town.
