"True love overcomes gender issues" as stunning lady boy marries her soldier boy!

The world of Thai social media was in raptures as a wedding took place between a pretty lady boy and a soldier just out of the army.

Along with a video of the "bride" talking about the obstacles the couple had overcome to get to their wedding day, the Thais were in social media heaven sharing the story.

Groom Mr Akrasit Khotsen, 23, who only left the army on Tuesday, married his sweetheart Mr Kanokphon Saengja, 21, the bride, in a ceremony at a house in Prajantakham district of Prachinburi on Thursday.

There was a 100,000 baht dowry and two baht weight of gold and many guests. But the well wishes and encouragement of people online swamped that.

Kanokphon told Daily News Online that the couple met by chance at a restaurant three years ago.

He realized that the handsome Akrasit was his "dish" right away and the couple have been together ever since.

Both sets of parents approved of the union especially as they seemed determined to make a living together. They opened a business growing trees and Akrasit would do all the digging and taking care of the plants.

One of the biggest obstacles to their relationship came when Akrasit was called up.

"Many people who have been faced with this end up splitting up," said Kanokphon,"but not us.

"We have true love and it has helped us to overcome the issues of gender as well as the separation caused by the army.

He added: "There have been tough times. We have heard bad words spoken about us. People have said it was not appropriate, not right for us to be together. But we have been strong and got through that prejudice.

"With the help of our families true love has found a way", he said.

Good luck!  I really hope you will be happy together!

Fair play 3 years and a call up in between and a biz together. Good union.

"Stunning" you can't be serious even if he was a woman it wouldn't be stunning.  He might look ok to the gay community.  Anyway good luck to these guys in marriage.

Good to see a positive ladyboy story, to set against the negative ones so often reported on this forum.

The "lady" would not win a beauty contest , but good luck to them .

yes... this one doesn't compare to some other ladyboys which are truly beautiful.

But watching Thai TV occasionally, I noticed it very seldom features beautiful ladyboys - as if it was a taboo.

But no shortage of gross looking, over the top behaving clowns in various degrees of queerness.

Two men cannot marry in Thailand, it's just a ceremony

True. Pretty shameful that Taiwan was the first Asian country to legalise same-sex marriage and not Thailand.

Don't get it...I thought same gender marriage was old hat now?

I wish them the best.  Good on them.

Same sex marriage is not legal in Thailand.

Scrapping the bottom of the barrel, on both accounts, are we not?

As stunning as my key.

Key descriptive here is the term 'boy' ...

how do they make love?

Mental sickness all around, world is going down the drain.

So, Gay man marries man in a dress ! Hope he looked good at his father in law to get a glimpse of his 'wife' in 40 years.

Yuk!

This is the gayest news of the week.

Wait...why is this news?

Does  it have a penis?

Do the couple have any plans to get rid of his penis?

Can you even start a GoFundMe page for a penis amputation surgery?

Congratulations. I wish them a long and happy life together.

It’s a story that shows how much progress has taken place in society and how the hatred and bigotry of the past towards those with different gender identities is being challenged by those with the courage to be who they are.

Does seem to scare those who refuse to accept accept that the world of gender/sexual identity is far more complex than boys and girls.

As Taylor said

”haters going to hate”.

No fighting about not closing the toilet seat at least.

Ah, gotta love those who cannot see the difference between gender identity and a job.

This thread is proving even more anachronistic than I anticipated.

Here is a better explanation of gender dysphasia than your little poster would imply.

you should read what some of the poster think about Nigerians. I fail to see the point of celebrating deviant behaviour,  what the do in privacy is up to them. To have total strangers expressing happiness at their union seems a little gay
