PM: Flood situations in central region improving

BANGKOK, 6 November 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, said the flood situation in the Central Plains is starting to alleviate.

Gen. Prayut said he had ordered all provincial state agencies to establish confidence among the general public, survey and assess the damage, and to provide assistance for flood-effected people in accordance with the government's regulations.

The Government Spokesman, Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd, said the Prime Minister had acknowledged the report on the latest water situation in Chao Phraya river basin. It was reported that the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) has reduced the drainage from Chao Phraya dam to 300 cubic meters per second.

For areas where the situation has already improved, Gen. Prayut had instructed the Ministry of the Interior to order each province to expedite a survey to assess the damages in all aspects and prepare a list for further assistance for the flood victims.

He has asked all flood-affected provinces to establish understanding among the locals to relieve their worries. He stressed that the government and relevant government agencies will not abandon the flood victims and will help relieve their hardships in accordance with the state’s rules and regulations.

Coinciding with the rain stopping.

It is pleasing to see this government keep the public informed on important issues such as the flood mitigation.

At least the Junta & Khun Prayuth Chan O Cha are doing something about it and not just all talk like some TV falang.

Well done Khun Prayuth Chan O Cha.

Agreed. This is the one that carried me through: " “When floods cause suffering to people, I suffer too,” Prayut said.":sorry:

why isnt this 'normal' ? should be their jobs' duties; why must a PM have to tell them to do this ?

He is doing or he has done something ?  Talk is in abundance in the military run government.  Results are scarce.  Did plenty during the last floods.

Got to say that his timing is impeccable to make that statement at the start of the dry season. Give the man another medal and save one for Steven.
