Pattaya station chief Apichai Krobpetch and head of the local tourist police Piyapong Ensarn announced Monday they had arrested a 29 year old Buriram woman for stealing from a Saudi tourist.

The Saudi tourist told the cops the woman "came offering sex to his friends" and stole from him while he was sleeping and waiting for his friends to return to the hotel room.

Arrested at the Manao Apartment in South Pattaya was Suphaporn Saowaphan along with 50,000 baht in cash.

Earlier Almushawwah Muath Mohammeda, 24, had reported the theft from a room at the Marine Yensabai Hotel also in South Pattaya.

He told investigators that a woman arrived offering sex to his friends. While waiting for his friends to come back he fell asleep and during this time the woman stole from him and left the room, he said.

Gone was US1,500 dollars, 1,000 rials and 12,000 baht, reported Naewna.

Police studied CCTV and realized who the thief was as there was a record of her name at Pattaya police station.

The thief said she needed the money to pay her outstanding rent and school fees for a younger sibling upcountry.

She was charged with theft from a property at night and sent for prosecution.

Can Saudi's now visit Thailand again for tourism / during many years their country did not allow it

Never heard that the ban has been lifted.

But you know, there are detours, two passports etc.

Hopefully the story will not reach his home country.

Might end with a good strong caning.

Not so sure about that, I know that it’s illegal for a uk citizen to carry two passports in KSA

A colleague of mine was detained for 6 hours and had his “ second “ passport confiscated.

Of course Saudi’s have their own laws and maybe they can ?

You didn't bring a girl back to your room for a good time, and then pass out drunk then? The girl just 'came' to your room to give sex to 'your friends', right? Yeh, ok Mr Saudi, we believe you

It was a strange ban. When I worked there they knew my wife, children and home was in Thailand. The way they explained it was that you could visit Thailand but when it came time to renew your passport then there was more than a good chance you wouldn't get a new one if they saw Thai immigration stamps in the old one!

That was before the latest flare up on the Blue Diamond Affair after which I think they tightened again. Maybe loosened again?

I thought I read online that many Arab countries are not nice to their people when they hear about their anti-muslim practices. If so, I would think this fellow would have wanted to keep quiet about his activities.

Hence the story that the whore was there to offer sex to his friends not him. She apparently turned up to offer sex to his friend who was out. So he invited her in to wait for him and then went sleep, as you do.

Yeah right.

The ban is still in place but some with either two passports or "wasta" get around it. For those who do go, if the Thai stamp is found in their passport, they have their passport confiscated. A friend said it can be for up to 5 years, with fines and possibly jail

Was your experience before they re-opened the Thai Embassy?
