But in the past the police check their passports and let them off if their visas are still valid. The police have only worried about visa overstay.

 

However its not hard to work out that these gangs are working illegally on tourist, education or teaching visas.

 

The police should be able to pull them all in after a brief observation, and deport the lot of them for breach of visa rules. Never mind having to prove that each one is involved in drugs and pimping.  

The article clearly stated they had expired, or no visa at all.

If there were bunch of pedos hanging around certain areas , many of them here illegally , hanging around the streets openly looking for victims, harassing passers by ,  you can be sure that there would be a clampdown on them .

Well I'm a black guy in Thailand and never had a problem with police even as 200 of them walked into McDonald's on Soi 5 Sukhumvit. It depends on your country of origin. If it's Africa then it's open season on those "Blacks" particularly Nigerians. Thailand is racist on its own black skinned citizens so what do you expect it to be with certain foreign nationals? Paint scum the color or nationality of your choice it's still scum...

I would like to think that the 30 years I spent in Thailand going through the Visa System that it was not all in vain. These black b...tars make my traveling out of the country time after time to deal with my legal visa a joke and just throws shit in the face of Visa Systems. I think they do a good job but could do better. Just look at America and the joke that is Canada who can't even find illegals and when they are found they qualify for all these "human rights". They are illegal and I pray the Thai Immigration deals with them SEVERELY.

  Chinese and Russians were also previously targeted , when it became apparent that they were up to no good .

    Backpackers  were also previously targeted when it became apparent that they were up to no good .

   Pattaya prostitutes were also recently and regularly targeted as were a bunch of White OAPs playing cards , on the suspicion of gambling .

    I do think that the RTP are  targeting places where there is a suspicion of illegal activity taking place , regardless of ethnicity

Quite an emotional debate with a variety of dynamics...

 

On one side, the racist and uneducated whose brains are replaced with long white cone pointed hoodies....on the other side those who advocate touching but naive evangelism and let anybody and everybody into borders in countries that cannot tackle their internal issues on unemployment, crime, social security funding etc.....in the middle the citizens of the african nations who are desperate and have a survival instinct far superior to others....so what now ?

 

One can raid and expel 100 africains to look good in the media but 1000 more are waiting to take their place...so it's no more efficient then a small fart in the wind...the core of the problem is misery and poverty that is disease in Africa. Sure it's not their fault, but they cannot plainly rely on the western nations to help them out. Africa needs to take up matters in their own hands, educate, innovate and generate wealth. The west would need to cease a colonist style exploitation of their ressources. It is a matter of having honest and a win-win cooperation to develop and make those countries self sufficient and not plainly hand over bails of brown enveloppes to the corrupt rulers in power as payment to loot their natural ressources.

 

But let's stop dreaming....the situation and chaos in Africa suits many, both within their borders and within western governance so why change things ? ...fine...but in that case there is a price to pay and the developped or better off nations are getting the hefty check.
