Officer who helped Yingluck flee fails to answer summons

By THE NATION
SURIYA PATATAYO

A SENIOR metropolitan officer accused of helping former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra flee the country ahead of her court verdict due in August will face a second summons call after he failed to show up yesterday for the first summons call.

Pol Maj-General Pakkapong said he could not say whether the officer has fled the country.

The Royal Police issued the summons call for Pol Colonel Chairit Anurit of the Metropolitan Police after the National Council for Peace and Order’s legal department officer last week filed a complaint to press a charge against him. The NCPO have accused Chairit of malfeasance of duty for failing to arrest Yingluck despite knowing that she was a defendant in a dereliction case over the handling of her government’s rice-pledging scheme.

The Metropolitan Deputy Commander Pol Maj-General Pakkapong Pongpetra, who is leading the investigation into the case, said the police would issue a second call for summons first instead of an arrest warrant.

The senior office did not show |up to the first summons call yesterday.

The NCPO complaint is in addition to a criminal charge against Chairit for using a fake vehicle-licence plate, and the disciplinary action taken against him earlier by the police that resulted in his being dismissed from duty.

Deputy Police Chief Pol General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul, meanwhile, said the police have not yet heard any updates about Yingluck from Interpol.

Yingluck was sentenced in absentia for five years on September 27 for failing to prevent corruption in her government rice-pledging scheme. She had fled prior the first court ruling on August 25, which was then rescheduled for September 27.

Her four Thailand passports have been revoked while there are reports that she is seeking asylum in foreign countries.

In all likelihood, he's already absconded and bolted  knowing full well he has

no plauasable explanations as to why he did what he did, and that his carer

in in the toilets already for sure whether he did was involved or not...

Scapegoat. The immorality of the current government "government"  makes the Shins look like saints.

Well, at least the BIB are consistent in this area of law enforcement.

They never seem to know where suspects they are supposedly investigating are.

What’s all this smoke and mirror. The NCPO planned her escape and anger their support base and go into damage control mode and someone have to be sacrificed and that person conveniently slip off their radar screen. What a poor plot.

really ?

You're not biased are you?

lets hope they put a freeze on all his bank accounts so he cant use them, a freeze an any of his properties etc would also be advisable. Seems like thaksin still has his contacts/lackies positioned to do his bidding as in this case, those trying to claim it was ncpo are simply trying to spread rumours to try to advance their cause, they dont like being caught out with the truth that all their political heroes are corrupt

Possibly? he was told not too turn up as he 'could' implicate others??? lets not let the facts destroy a perfectly plausible story here chaps :shock1:

That is the world you living for not recognizing the obvious. NCPO have their goons watching her every steps and even casual trips but allowed that slip close to the court verdict. That’s pretty hard core rejection of the obvious.

If the police can’t locate him, I fear the worse. The junta is merciless in dealing with squealers who expose their crimes. Dead man tells no tale.

Right. Find the car he escaped in and do DNA tests to deter who helped him escape. I mean this could have all been avoided,  but that’s not the point.

What an absolutely embarrassing and face losing s*** show.

They say he gave her a ride, but have no proof other than his confession which is worthless outside of Thailand.  They have no proof she was in the car or that she crossed the boarder.  Were fake license plates found on the car or in the garage ?

This case has more holes in it than my sock drawer.

Of course it does. There is ample evidence to support that claim.

By the way, according to the article, he is being charged for failure to arrest Yingluck. At the time there was no arrest warrent issued for her. They are very bad liars.

And the coup supporters are claiming she was helped  by someone other than the NCPO. In both cases it shows the current regime being utterly incompetent. But that is hardly news. And now they even lost the bloke who alledgely helped her escape. Priceless comedy.

I'm pretty sure he's in Dubai with Yingluck , they are good friends so he can continue to "work" for her.

Sent a doctors note, he has Shinawatraitus.

OK she got 5 years,  she ran away with some help most likely but hey let's not worry about the elusive Yingluck. Better go after the alleged help. Or is all this just  fantasy?

TVF anti-Shins, like you, have started long ago to predict that she would do a runner. They considered there was absolutely no doubt she would do it, and that thinking otherwise would be a sign of stupidity or of pro-Shins bias

And now they try to explain us that it is reasonable to assume that the anti-Shins Junta could not have predicted it and were taken by surprise!

:cheesy:

I'm sure he will be adequately compensated for any inconveniences suffered and any harm to his police career.

Well thats all gone according to plan. Thing is they actually think we believe all this cr@p.

I feel it in my water that this entire case is going to come full 360 and bite someone very painfully in the a$$. Too many unanswered questions at present.

For the investigation to stop at the alleged driver of the car that allegedly transported the ex-PM inside Thailand, within the terms of her release on bail, is ludicrous. More holes in this persecution than in a very holey thing..................

The NCPO complaint is in addition to a criminal charge against Chairit for using a fake vehicle-licence plate, and the disciplinary action taken against him earlier by the police that resulted in his being dismissed from duty.

Fortunately for Chairit  he will receive adequate remuneration upon arrival in Dubai. Bonus for Thaksin is, he will have another former policeman to buddy around with. I envision them frolicking in the dunes, almost warms my heart.

I heard he got a well paid job in London as part of security for the Dear Lady, and is very much enjoying his new life

He was not asked for references

Locate the police officer LMAO. Cannot locate Yingluck let alone Red bull Boss and both on Interpol notice . Love Thailand. Another world where Netzins expect justice. Won't happen as too much corruption from leaders getting humongous amounts of Tea money.
