I am flying to the UK next year on a return trip with KLM. Does anyone know how much extra they would charge if I wanted to add a few days

on to my return flight back to Thailand?

All tickets conditions different. Depending on class of ticket could be free or expensive or not changeable at all

you need to check which fare class your ticket is.

If your fare class is one of the following, you most likely won't be able to change the date (but you can still try to call KLM or contact them via FB or twitter them):

T N R E G V

other classes allow date change for a fee.

You should find a link to the fare rules either in your e-ticket or in your online account with whoever you bought the ticket from. As you are flying with KLM I think the information should also be available via checkmytrip.com (Amadeus), though I've never had a KLM ticket myself to check with. It certainly works for other Amadeus airlines I've used.

Whilst fairly daunting to look at the fare rules will explain exactly how much you need to pay for changes and penalties, and what the conditions are. Certainly the fare class will give you an idea of what you can do but the devil is in the detail, and the detail is only in the fare rules.

Sometimes in the fare rules you can find interesting options for free/cheap stopovers that you may have been unaware of when buying the ticket as the online agencies rarely promote or even mention these.
