Three joint statements on improving international relations acknowledged

 

BANGKOK, 15 November 2017 (NNT) – The cabinet acknowledged three joint statements designed to improve international relations, said deputy government spokesman Col Apisit Chainuwat. 

He said the cabinet acknowledged the joint ASEAN-Canada statement reached during the ASEAN-Canada Summit as part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the ASEAN and Canada relations. 

The statement calls for the enhancement of bilateral partnership for mutual benefits, the support for stability and sustainable development in the global community with focuses on politics, security, economy, society and culture. 

The cabinet acknowledged the conclusion of the ASEAN-EU Dialogue on Sustainable Development which will be signed on 17 November 2017, with key points regarding regional cooperation, the promotion of gender equality, and the climate issue. 

The cabinet also acknowledged a draft statement on the upcoming 13th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be held on 20-21 November 2017 at Naypyidaw, Myanmar, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs will represent the Thai government exchanging ideas regarding partnership, peace promotion, and the preparations for an ASEM meeting in Spain.
