The commissioner of the Royal Thai Police declined comment on widespread report that he would step down to join the new cabinet of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The national police chief, Pol Gen Chaktip Chaijinda, is currently in the United States on an official one week  trip from Nov 13-19. He is scheduled to visit several law enforcement agencies in the US, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), said Royal Thai Police office deputy spokesman Krissana Pattanacharoen.

The police chief would also hold meetings with US officials about crime suppression of all forms and collaborations between Thailand and the US on dealing with trans-national crime and terrorism.

Will he declare his assets when he join the cabinet. Doubt so.

I firmly believe that this fine and upstanding man is the only senior police officer in Thailand who is not corrupt as hell.

As such, he will be a fine addition to the cabinet of Mr Prayuth, who was so financially prudent as an army officer that he put away more than 100 million baht saved from his salary as an army officer. The fact that he refused to explain how he did this and refused to allow an official audit of his wealth is definitely reasonable and should absolutely not be the cause of scurrilous gossip throughout Thailand.

I have it on good authority, you can definitely trust me.

GT200's maybe

'He is scheduled to visit several law enforcement agencies ...'

Perhaps he's there to learn about the enforcement part of the law.
