No Taxies at Swampy

Featured Replies

Arrived at Swampy last night around 7.30 pm ended up having to catch the Skytrain, the Taxi line was around 50 meters long , what a sxxx fight. Immigration was around 20 min. Skytrain cost > 35 baht if you have carry on not bad but a bit of a walk. Anyone had Taxi problems on arrival lately.?

Sorry SWAMPY???

I've stood in a 100 meter line at Swampy and it took 11 minutes to get a taxi.  I timed it.

I've waited twice as long at DMK when the line was only 20 meters long.

It's frustrating when I see taxis come in in bunches, often with a time-out between each bunch.  I can envision the guy who shut his engine off to save a few baht in fuel, then holding up the whole works when it won't start again, but I have no clue why it works that way.  But since they got the new ticket machines at Swampy (and got them dialed in), I've never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes, usually less than 5, and often no queue at all.

Waiting in the line for a cabbie is normal, provided when it's your turn, you don't bump into a taxi who tries to cheat by refusing to turn on the meter. It  happens unfortunately a bit to often.

The authorities should really start to give severe warnings and penalties to the dishonest drivers as the taxi is the first image one gets on arrival in a country.

Easier to wiggle through the poorly built turnstyle on the 4th floor departure level. You may see a guard blowing a whistle, they don’t stop you or do anything. A pickup truck with loudspeaker and flashing lights might come along. The drivers give them Pfft! Lauging while you drive away in convenience not stuck in a taxi rank in the stinkin heat.

Never bother with taxis at Swampy and very rarely in BKK in general.  Hit and miss and would rather pay the small extra for a decent service.  Really, not that expensive to upgrade.

The punter cheap Charlie's living on the out skirts of the town are forced to get a cab

the rest of us living next door to a bts get the sky train, icy cold air and no idiot cabby asking.. where your from, you have lady, you want massage..... yuk!

BKK top floor zero wait time.

DMK follow railway signs. Elevator or stairs, to bridge. Door on right side leads to taxi stop. Zero wait time.

Yeah, like it's such a downer having to travel on the train with all the peasants. Oh dear, life sucks when they can't travel in the style to which they think they are due.
