Obviously I’ll need to see them to render a proper opinion.

Sounds like this law was a gift to the BiB.  They cut down on the bogus traffic violations, urine tests of farang, etc, but now anyone with a smartphone or any computer device is fair game.  An ad in your browser cache of Taylor Swift in a skirt so short it reaches up to the body part that makes her a girl and Mr Officer hits the jackpot.

So, will there be a new style of ambush at Ekamai bus station by the BiB to ensure they are compensated for this terrible filth polluting the country?

It would remove from your caches but not from your OS caches necessarily.

I was talking to a friend last night about this and he challenged me to find any traces of porn on his notebook. He thought he was safe because he downloads to his notebook and then transfers to an external drive. Without even going into his Windows folder, System Restore or his Acronis backups, simply right-clicking on his torrent client scared the life out of him. That took approx. 15 seconds!

The cropped screenshot below was given to me with his permission as it gives no personal details except perhaps what porn he is into...........

a friend you say ...hmmmm

Ridiculous ! No need to have anything in computer now ! there are icloud and similar sites for keeping it! Lol!!!

......and still. There are actually Farangs wanting to aquire Thai-Citizenship (see Thai-Visa sub Forum).

Can only think of 3 reasons:
- Home country allowes for Dual-Citizenship (leaving an exit door open, "just in case"). So, why not?
OR:
- Applicant has a Police "wrap-sheet" in his home country, a mile long.
OR:
- Applicant suffers from a neurological brain disorder.
Cheers.

Interesting series of posts but begs the question, why not use a geo-block on your browser, use a VPN or use free opera browser with free unlimited VPN and clean regularly with free C Cleaner?

I'm not a computer geek but even if innocent I hate the thought of someone spying on me or looking over my shoulder, and I believe those measures give a degree of anti-snoop privacy?

At this rate, in 2040 Saudi Arabia, Iran or Abu Dhabi will become the next global Sin City playgrounds, and Thailand will become a police state that everybody will fear, avoid or flee !??

A recent Thaitech article said it is illegal in Thailand to view porn, not just store it. Can anyone clarify this distinction as so much porn is available for viewing on the internet and how will anyone know what you have viewed if you don't save it? That must be even more challenging than finding out who has porn saved on their computer. Of course, sending your computer in for repair might be a problem.
