Warrant issued for ex-police officer accused of helping Yingluck flee

Warrant issued for ex-police officer accused of helping Yingluck flee

By The Nation

The anti-corruption court has issued an arrest warrant for a fired senior Metropolitan Police officer accused of helping former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra flee the country ahead of her court verdict in August.

The Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases on Friday issued the warrant for Pol Colonel Chairit Anurit, former deputy commander of Metropolitan Police Division 5.

He was accused of malfeasance and violating Article 157 of the Criminal Code.

Chairit has failed to respond to two summons sent to him by the Royal Thai police to answer charges of malfeasance.

The National Council for Peace and Order’s legal department officer early this month filed a complaint accusing Chairit of dereliction of duty for failing to arrest Yingluck despite knowing that she was a defendant in a case over the handling of her government’s rice-pledging scheme.

The NCPO complaint is in addition to a criminal charge against Chairit for using a fake vehicle licence plate, and the disciplinary action taken against him earlier by the police that resulted in his dismissal from service.

A loyal ? misguided  ? maybe officer no more ,

so I hope the pay off was substantial.

With this vindictive pursuit there have been no clear,

decisive  winners.

phone ringing in the South of France:

"Hello?"

"A warrant has been issued for your arrest in Thailand."

"OK. Thank you. Are you coming over for the orgy?"

Probably been hired as her body guard and is either in Dubai or the UK

More handing out summons to people who will not front up, and i believe this just what the authorities want.

Can they serve a Thai warrant in Dubai? lol

They have been kind enough to wait 4 month before issuing the arrest warrant, so that he had enough time to put his affairs in order before leaving.

Listen up . . . are you trying to tell me that this guy, Chairit, has dared to defy the NCPO on two separate counts; malfeasance and criminal? And you're saying he was a top policemen, too . . . a Police Colonel, no less. How come Prayut didn't put a security car and camera on his pad? The stupidity of this bunch get's more laughable every day.

Does the NCPO realise that forum networks like TV have posting members world-wide and certainly in those countries that enjoy governance backed by brains, rather than guns? They must be rapidly washing their hands of Thailand ever returning to the status of potential world power. Bloody sad what one seriously egocentric psychopath has done to 'his' country. I wonder if Trump is keeping up with what the little man is doing, since his ego trip. Regretting it, now, maybe.

He is in trouble for failing to arrest a defendant in a case when actually the defendant was on bail and not yet due in court.

She was not even at Court and was innocent until proven guilty so how could this cop arrest her?  so we let her slip away but now we must show 'face' and make an arrest warrant for someone who is not in the country. What a joke.

Yes she was on bail, knowing that she was breaking the terms of her bail he failed in his duty to prevent or arrest her, he actually assisted her.

Nice to know that Police officers can be fired and prosecuted, presume there are no inactive posts left... :partytime2:

Should be plenty of room left in the inactive posts department. All those previously 'assigned' there should now be serving their country in the military in the southern provinces. :whistling:

Where IS the woman?

I told everyone I saw her in a resort in Nadi, Fiji last month, surrounded by some healthy looking Thai men with bulges in their jackets............

Has Yingluck been seen? repeated rumours that she's been disappeared. I suppose that prosecuting this guy will be held up as sone kind of proof that she hasn't. Personally I'm not so sure.

Nothing would surprise me about these gangsters.

Oh well the plot Thickens Do they honestly believe that police officer is still in Thailand?  Just showing the people they have everything under control This is just one mighty laugh  :cheesy: Honestly the people in charge in this country could not even run a primary school

He picked her up in Thailand and dropped her off in Thailand. No sign of breaking bail. Of course he assumed the outcome. Guilty of not acting on an assumption?
