# if BP is too high it must be lowered/controlled regardless of ED. to protect your life

some types of blood pressure drugs can cause erectile dysfunction .   true

fair use "The pharmacologic management of hypertension has long been implicated in the genesis of erectile dysfunction; the latter is considered the main reason of nonadherence to antihypertensive therapy. Older-generation antihypertensive drugs (central-acting, β blockers, diuretics) negatively affect erectile function, while newer-generation agents (calcium antagonists, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors) seem to have neutral effects. Preliminary data with the latest drugs (angiotensin receptor blockers) point to a beneficial effect on erectile function. Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, can be safely and effectively administered to hypertensive patients (even when on multiple-agent antihypertensive therapy), with a caution regarding α blockers."

Caution is needed when using Viagra if you have high blood pressure.  My cardiologist has seen a number of deaths from Viagra.  He recommends using Cialis instead.

Using Viagra with hypertension will not increase mortality rates. In fact Viagra lowers BP.

it is usually the combination of an antihypertensive drug with the addition of viagra whose additive effect is to lower bp too much.  some of those have heart disease and or vascular disease in the brain and cannot tolerate lowering bp like a healthy person can.

viagra has a more acute effect on erection and thus bp whereas cialis is a long acting slower to lower bp drug. some cannot tolerate the rapid decrease in bp

Never met a HBP med that liked me..and OH! the side effects! (ED, insomnia, fast heart rate, vison problems, loss appetite, urinating problems, momentary confusion, occasional mild pharinoia, negitive interaction w/ other drugs, ect, ect.

Have taken Hawthorn Berry (look it up on EBAY), natural herb for a few years now. Am good.

I buy it and cap it myself (gell caps at Makro) or can drink like a tea.

Naturally, ED is not a problem.

I believe the television advertisement for Viagra says somthing like:  If you have high blood pressure, Be sure to consult your doctor before taking Viagra as it can result in a dangerously low blood pressure.

Hi, The best treatment for high blood pressure is exercise! Walking can keep you off medication for high blood pressure, which is not really very good for you. Try to walk everyday for 20 to 30 minutes at a pace above a stroll. walk faster as you get fitter, it has done wonders for my high blood pressure, actually I do not have high blood pressure anymore. Your increased fitness will also help you with your other problem, I think. All the best keep on walking Mouldy.

I just posted this over at "cleaning your liver"

Maybe some will like it here...

Hey Guys, I started the Tumeric post awhile back , but was away.

Yes, black pepper is good, but really what is needed is something oiley, greasy, for it to "stick to" and stay in your system longer. I use fish oil every day so that is my "stick".

I believe everyone should take fish oil or some kind of Omega's.

Real Dr's, not Big Pharma fake Dr's, will tell you the benefits are unbelieveable and data is still pouring in.

Proven: Omega's help stimulate brain function, "ie", people with severe brain trama tend to "keep sparking" even while unconscious, or in a coma. I have had 3 serious concussions (idiots hit me) and a blood clot that almost did me in (induced coma) and I remember more now, than before.

Proven: After 3 "totaled car" incidents in my youth, and 2 cracked discs and 2 damaged vertibrages (sp?) and a spat of pain pill addition (induced by "Pharma Pill Dr's), today I have  been pain free for almost 20 years, because of the fish oil, that tends to "oil" the joints and renew dead cells.

Proven:Fish oil helps lower HBP and improve blood flow and support healthy heart function.

Sorry to get off the topic...but, Tumeric can also take away pain. After being hit by one of the brainless wonders here, a few years ago, that damaged my pelvic bone, some times I have hip pain in the sockets. Well, after 2-3 tumeric capsules, and 1-2 hours, that pain is gone.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a "old Man". At 58, in a few days, my life has been filled with wrestling (earlier in life) constant swimming, tennis, racketball, biking and a very busy business for many years.

I think alcohal (In my case, it was when a girl got me to drink a wine cooler w/ her when I was 32 yrs old. That led to "wine", then beer, then ..well, you get the idea), was the factor for me. I lived w/ 220/200 for several years. I thought I was just "active". (HeHe), but don't trust what the drug pushers tell you..a few numbers high is not a reason to run and poison your body with , well, poison.

Thats all, just my "opinion", based on a real life senerial..do what you think you need......

one more important point about viagra, must swallow it with ample water cause if it gets stuck in your throat will produce one hell of a stiff neck

I think a few posters should try the new Viagra eye drops....... So they can take a long,  hard look at themselves!

The cause of ED can psychological or physiological.  The psychological is often driven by low testosterone levels albeit not exclusively.  ED is the canary in a coal mine for your cardiovascular system (the physiological).  This is more than just BP.   Best have both looked at by a Dr.

I have been on blood pressure tabs and others for around 5 years and had ED for 3-4 yrs.

i have also suffered from cronic broncitis many times here hospital 3-4 times a year over a 3 year period. But the hospital loaded me with steroids, which I blame this for my ED. Been free of Broncitis for that last year.

my BP over the last 1-2 yrs has been great mostly around 120/78 I have checked the tabs on Google and none of mine warn on the after effects mention ED probs.

So I put my ED prob down to the steroids. As it mentions ED prob in the after effects. There again I am 76 so at that age we should eclectic some ED probs. The tabs you can buy here make no difference, no help. Been of any type of Steroids for over a good year. I still smoke so that is the main ED prob. And BP cause. I now get the odd semi errectinion.

Giving up alcohol will help a lot with ED. They don't call it brewer's droop for no reason.

yeah but it is a doubvle edged sword. give it up and suddenly see how the babes really look then incur motivational ED versus alcohol enhanced babes and alcohol induced ED.

this is also valid for women when they see all the handsome men but women dont worry about ED

I think I'd take ED because the woman is ugly over ED because of alcohol. At least with the first my judgment is not impaired.
