I'm running W10 and the problem is mainly on a game I have been playing for donkey's years. One of the shortcuts to set the game speed is "(plus)" and that key is dead on my keyboard, an old model SUH (a full-size, full-stroke, big-key keyboard). I would love to buy a replacement, but cannot find one. Tried repair shops at the computer center here in Khon Kaen, but they say "no can do".

So, I'm wondering if there is another combination of keystrokes that will produce a "(plus)". The "(plus)" on the 10-key pad won't work with the game.

Here is a list of Unicodes >>> https://unicode-table.com/en/#basic-latin

But it might not work with all applications.

e.g

On a MS Word document, type 002B and press Alt x for +

Although in many ways related there's a world of difference between a character set like Unicode in MS Word and keyboard codes that trigger interrupts in an operating system.

You can shoot out the keyboard codes using the Alt key. ALT43 will generate the plus code. Hold down the left alt key and enter 43 at the num pad.

This keyboard interrupt will now be available to any app that's interested. The app might use it to ring a bell or reference a character set to print something.

I am not sure why the OP has not grabbed a local Thai keyboard to play his game.

Games often react to the buttons which are pressed and i.e. 1 left top is not the same as 1 on the numeric keypad. If one of your buttons is damaged you might be able to set the keyboard language to something different while you are playing that game and then maybe you can use a different key and that might be a solution. Not perfect but maybe better than not playing at all.

What is your problem with buying a keyboard? In a decent shop you should get full size keyboards.

The keyboard is Eng/Thai bought in BKK about 10 years ago, plus I like it -- a lot.
