I’ve had 2 valid British passports for a number of years, the company I’ve worked for ( not in Thailand ) has always taken care or renewing them for me.

However I’ve changed jobs and need to do this myself, company will supply cover letter just wondering if anyone has experience of this recently at Trendy in bkk.

Thanks

Don’t know about trendy, never heard of it,, but an alternative for you is you could post the PP that requires replacing from Bangkok to your uk passport office with the application form and the company letter along with a scan of your retaining passport signed by you,, I just renewed my second PP in Glasgow yesterday, in hindsight I should’ve renewed both, so asked the guy in the PP office how I could renew the other one from thailand when they tell you to on the info sheet to submit all current passports, it’s not really feasible to do as requested on the info sheet as the passport with the Thai visa should be in your possession whilst in thailand,

Edited to add the link and the guy in the PP office told me to apply exactly as you would for a normal renewal just add the company letter and the scanned copy signed by you of the passport you’re holding on to

You keep your passport when you apply here. You only submit color copies of your passport(s) with the application.

I was told can only apply these days for a second passport in the UK The letter covering this MUST also include the countries you will be traveling on both passports.  I renewed mine last visit to UK in person at London passport office

Whilst the title indicates it’s an application for a second passport, according to the wording of the post I’m assuming it’s for a renewal of one of his current passports, in the case of a first application for a second passport, I cannot comment as I received my initial second passport whilst I was in uk.

Regarding the company letter it doesn’t need to specifically state the countries it will be used for travelling in, unless each office differs, I was also told a scanned signed company letter wouldn’t be no use, but both times I’ve renewed the signed scan of the company letter has been fine

I currently only have one valid passport, 2nd one expired so it’ll be a fresh application not renewal.

Does anyone have a contact name / number of agent or someone who could clarify requirements?

Many thanks

I live in CNX. I was advised to renew the passport locally.

Whether it is a renewal of an existing passport, or an application for a first passport, does not depend on the expiry date of the passport. You will be requesting a renewal.

Officially, as you intimated in your initial post, all passport applications from Thailand now must go through VFS at the Trendy Building. It does seem, though, that some have successfully applied by post direct to the UK.

I think, even though you have had two passports in the past, you need to justify why you need two now. A letter from your employer, stating that you travel often, and sometimes need to apply for a visa on one passport while traveling on the other, would likely be sufficient.
