The 100% old ginger needs to wait until February. But I guess your friend will not need you to find them, because he can find from his regular channel. I know there might be some refrigerated old ginger out there, but they are pre-ordered, you can not get it, the final stock should be out right now, because new stuffs will be out next month. Fruits/vegetables are like this. When you hear people needing these stuffs in a hurry and willing to pay higher price, it normally means they are in severe shortage.
