The Bangkok Post website was taken offline by hackers on Tuesday morning.

At around 11.30am people trying to access the Bangkok Post home page and other pages were met with the words:

Hacker Sakit Hati

Your Website Has Been Damaged

Heavy metal music playing in the background also accompanied the message.

Why the "upgrading" and "enhancing" "to serve you better" BS? Clearly a question of "face" here as it appears they do not want to admit they have been hacked. Newspapers are supposed to tell the truth. But then, shopkeepers probably don't know that.

Started getting virus warnings when accessing Bangkok Post site. Later got the message about upgrades to the site. Looks like more was hacked than the site since my virus protection detected a virus and closed the site on my computer. May be worth checking on Mac computers without full protection.
