Just went to immigration 2 days ago to see what my options are, I entered in a visa exempt and was planning to try a 90 day ext based on marriage then convert to 1 year extension based on marriage, the imm officer told me financial required for both applications which I thought was incorrect but it wouldn’t have been an issue since I have sufficient seasoned funds in place, but the timescale for both applications may become an issue if I’m called away for work,,

however he advised me to get a 1 year non imm o multi entry based on marriage (which I’ve had many times in past) but what he told me that I wasn’t aware of was that instead of exiting/entering country every 90 days I could simply go to immigration and do a 90 day report with this type of visa,, I wasn’t aware of this and it could possibly be a good option for me if he’s giving me correct information? Anyone regularly doing this?

You would apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry (not an extension) based upon qualifying for an extension of stay based upon marriage. That is why you have to show financial proof and all the supporting documents needed for the extension application.

After you got the 90 entry from the visa application you could get a re-entry permit to keep the remainder of it valid when you entered the country and then the one year extension.

They gave you incorrect info about doing 90 day reports if your are on multiple entry non-o visa. You have to leave the country every 90 days.

That was wrong information.

You would have to leave every 90 days.

You can only apply for a 60-day extension for this reason.  But, at some offices, you can apply for a 30-day extension first, then the 60-day extension after that.  This may be where the "90-days" came from.

You would need the financials to apply for the Conversion to a Non-O entry.  The official rules do not require seasoning of funds for this step, but some offices require the seasoning, anyway.

In the last 30-days of the 90-days you get with the conversion, you could apply for the 1-year extension of stay.  This always requires seasoned-money, if using the "money in the bank" method to qualify.

At the end of each of the 90-day entries you get from the Multi-Entry Visa, you can either leave the country, or apply for a 60-day extension based on marriage to a Thai spouse .  At the end of the additional 60-days, you would need to leave the country.

That’s what I thought re the incorrect info and I mentioned if he was sure about this, but the imm officer told me this is recent updated info,,
