WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May talked about ways to move towards peace in the Middle East in a phone call on Tuesday, the White House said.

"The president and Prime Minister discussed next steps in forging peace in the Middle East," the White House said in a brief statement that made no mention of Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital. "Both leaders also emphasized the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis in Yemen."

Trump also congratulated May on the decision by European Union leaders to move to the second phase of the Brexit negotiations, the White House said.

As America has been sidelined by the Palestinians and other Arab countries in the area following his fairly pointless declaration of what is or is not the capital of Israel, 'moving the peace process forward' would seem to now have nothing to do with the USA. Pence' planned visit to Israel was cancelled when it was realised he would be either shunned or slammed if he turned up. His office however, in true to form style of this administration lied, saying it was cancelled because he was needed to ensure the passing of the nefarious 'Tax Bill', in case of a tied vote. McCain was at home recovering from cancer surgery, meaning there were 99 people voting...an odd number cannot produce a tied vote. Cannot even make a semi plausible lie it seems. The cancer in this administration is spreading top down, quickly.
