OK SO we have been here around two months now, we live in a nice 2 bed house with enclosed garden on all sides, our 2 cats who emigrated with us (male, castrated, calm) lounge around in the shade in the garden, they love it, :bah: evening they like to sit outside as its cooler than inside....Life is goooood....

OR IS IT :D

We have company - A ginger thai cat (male c/w swingers :o, angry, terrotorial) has spoilt the party by coming at my cats at every opportune moment :D

There have been a number of occasions where I have had to chase this cat away but things came to a head last night when he chased one of my boys (see avator) into the house! full on scrap in our living room!

Mrs Heli was :D on the settee - she nearly had heart failure

Save killing this cat (I don't want to do that) how can I get rid of this moggy? I have asked neighbours and they have said it is feral.

I was thinking of capturing it somehow and taking it FARRRRR away :D

Any Ideas??

i think you would get this problem anywehere with stray cats, a pussy is a pussy wherever u go.

Deal with it like you would back home. Not sure on the laws of dealing with unwanted animals in Thailand, maybe there is an organisation that can help?

THis is not really a problem back home so much

Generally domesticated cats are neutred so fighting is much more remote.

I think the only solution is to capture it and release it somewhere else

Absolutely. Neutering Him will not only solve your problem but also help reduce the number of homeless kittens.

And, as it's a male, shouldn't cost much.

Who knows, once neutered he might even become pals with your cats.

there ain't no arguing wid feral cats wid big balls...either grab 'em 'an nueter 'em or put 'em inna sack and dump him some miles away...then him an' some 2 meter long monitor lizard can discuss breakfast...

nobody looks after cats around here...there is a gentle, pregnant cat that hangs around our front door begging for food and I can see the father, a strutting piece ob shit wid his balls all over the place that I would like to grab an' pull out the scissors...but, this is Thailand and cannot interfere...

:o:D

Ohoh, you's gonna be a Kitty Pop there soon, Tutsi.

Helicopter, get the dog rescue in to bag and neuter him, like Sheryl and SBK said. I know, ginger toms are very naughty. Once fixed, well...add him to your family?

Keep a hose with power nozel on ready, and spray feral cat when he comes around. That will discourage him. Fortunately, the problem is most likely self-correcting after a few weeks. Feral cats don't have much don't have much of a life span, and I'll bet he will just stop coming around soon enough. We have had several like that; a fearless one that actually used come into the house and walk upstairs to eat our cat's food and intimidate our kittens. I would probably would have adopted him but we had five cats at the time.

BTW, just a couple of weeks ago, we lost the last sibling in a litter of three. Over a period of two years, each of them just went out to play as usual, but never returned. We live in a sedate, upscale, sururban village in Khon Kaen. Couldn't be more safe or cat-friendly. But obviously not safe enough! They were really great cats, born in the cabinet in my bedroom. You get very attached raising them from birth, and losing them has been painful.

Look after yours!

Aloha,

Rex
