Duhhh. And If they stop a driver after a check point? Or if there is an accident after a check point.

I passed at least 50 "check points" were the police just sat around a table. Not checking anyone for 3 days. 

My gf and I were heading back from a New Year's Eve party at about 2:30am between Chaturapak and Roi Et.  My gf drove as I was pretty toasted and she had abstained.  I expected for us to be stopped and checked at least once on the ~30km trip back since we had passed a few checkpoints on the way there.  Surprisingly, didn't see a single cop during the whole trip home .  The checkpoints were still lit up but they were unattended.  Of course, this is a rural area but still expected some police presence after all the bloviating of the "7 Dangerous Days" police clampdown on drunk drivers nationwide.  Go figure.
