webfact
BB gun Fortuner driver says sorry - he was so angry with the taxi's high beam Picture: Daily News A Fortuner driver told police that he was so angry with a taxi driver flashing him on high beam that he got out and threatened him with a gun. The incident was caught on video, evidence that was presented to the Prawet police in Bangkok by taxi driver Phantakarn Worphet, 47, on Saturday. Later the Fortuner driver gave himself up voluntarily and handed in his weapon. Phanuphong Boriboon explained that he was driving with his girlfriend and the taxi driver kept flashing him on high beam. He said he tried to move out of the way but a barging match ensued on the motorway making him angry. He admitted getting out his BB gun and threatening the driver of the taxi. He said he had bought the gun for 4,500 baht and kept it for his own protection as he works nights. He was charged with illegal possession of a gun but allowed to go as he had given himself up. His case will go to court. A video showed him wai-ing on the floor in apology to Phantakarn who said nothing. What more can you ask for? Some cash maybe? Sure. Give him a 100 baht fine. No need though, as he already said sorry.

Guitar God
So you need a permit for a BB gun now? Not advocating pointing any kinds of guns at people but there's no distinction between owning a Walther PPK 9 mm and a Daisy BB pistol as far as possession of an illegal gun goes? Does that then also extend to cap guns and water pistols?
RichardColeman
Just make waving a realistic gun or knife/sword in public an imprisonable offence.

You try walking around in public brandishing a BB gun and see what happens.
