Speedo1968
I have noticed recently that when I use a VPN via the US ( and some other countries ) and do a search ( e.g. the word organic ) on Google it shows the following: chromesearchcub ....... then, depending on the search word I use it sometimes skips to another site e.g.amazon then immeadiately or in a fraction of a second it automatically goes to another site showing: alphashoppers.com and below: privacy policy I Contact Us I EULA I am unable to proceed with the search. If I use another browser e.g Firefox, Epic, IceDragon etc this does not happen. Could it be my security settings ? Can anyone please give some very simple advice as to how to stop this happening, other than changing my VPN just for Google ?

It's one of these annoying browser redirects. About the only malware I caught in more than 10 years. Just use FF to search for "chrome search club" (notice the "club" spelling). Hopefully the removal guides work. EDIT: browser redirect, only malware type i caught. Not that I had "chrome search club". Sorry I am not very tech savvy regarding abbreviations e.g. "Just use FF .." what is FF ? Can I use Chrome Cleanup Tool ? Is it worth reinstalling Google / Chrome if the cleanup tool doesn't remove it ?

Sent from my SM-N950F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app Have tried everything from deleting Chrome and re-installing using different browsers or VPN's. Using a different VPN will sometimes stop Chrome going direct to "chromesearchclub" etc. If I search for Chrome in FF it will appear as a normal search which I can use. Have tried physically deleting all references to the malware in settings. Deleted anything to do with Google / Chrome. Have tried using my virus program. What this malware does is to allow Google to block the down arrow when setting default browser, nor can you delete it. Anyone else having this problem ?
