I found a fantastic place. Here's the LINK. It's the Sananwan Palace and Guesthouse. I am arriving from Australia at the new Bangkok Airport at 9.30pm then catching a flight from Bangkok to Khon Kaen early the next morning.

I emailled them and received a reply within 24 hours. I have a Standard air-conditioned room (with hot shower) for 400 baht. They will collect me from the Airport and drive me to the Guest House and back to the Airport the next morning for a total of 1000 baht.

I'm not sure how you can call it fantastic when you apparently haven't stayed there yet. From their website...

Note: SANANWAN PALACE is only about 6 kms from the end of the airport runway in a direct line, however the route via road is about 18km because of the extensive internal airport road system. Under normal traffic conditions this take about 20 minutes, but can be longer during peak hour traffic.
So even they admit that their hotel is 18 kms from the airport. That is not close! It is only 30 kms to most hotels on Sukhumvit and during light traffic should only take 20 - 30 minutes. I'm not sure why people are bothering with these places that are "close to the airport" but not really close by the time you drive completely to the other side of the airport. Granted if you're arriving during rush hour, you will save a bit of time, but during off-peak hours you save very little if any time. If it was me, I'd much rather stick with a well-known hotel, but to each his own.
