This bizarre visual of a car dangling off the second storey of a building in California has spawned many a joke, but how exactly did the vehicle wind up here?

Police in Santa Ana, California, said that the speeding Nissan sedan crashed into a concrete median just outside the building, which is a dental office. After the collision, the sedan flew about 60 feet into the air before ramming into the second storey of the building.

Officials of Santa Ana police department received a call about a crash at about 5:30 a.m. The car was travelling at a very high speed, and it went airborne after hitting the concrete divider. The car also appeared to be coming from the wrong side.

There is no mystery.  BBC has been reporting and showing video of the accident all morning.  One here on their website, and a view from a camera in a bus as the car launched across the road in front of the bus narrowly missing a collision.  http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-42693414/car-crashes-into-building-in-california
