South Road barriers block illegal U-turns

South Road barriers block illegal U-turns

PATTAYA:--Pattaya has replaced rubber cones with concrete barriers at the South Road intersection with Soi 16 after people continued to make illegal and dangerous U-turns there.

Drivers were cutting through traffic to make their way to Soi Bongkot and Soi Korphai, exacerbating heavy rush-hour traffic.

The new barriers stretch from South Road Soi 5 to the Pattaya City Resort.

Traffic reports since the installation this month show that congestion has eased and traffic is flowing more smoothly.

Who are they kidding, just go there and you will see the motor cycle drivers going to the end of the barrier, either end, to make their illegal u-turns

Police don't know squat, they are never there to enforce the rule, their pronouncements of less accidents rates up there with TAT's tourist numbers

The real fake news

All it has done is added another 30 metres in either direction before the "illegal" U turn maneuver can be made once more..........:whistling:

A prime candidate for a tunnel,overpass or ( not so workable roundabout)

The blood splattering must have been affecting the road surface, being concentrated in the same old spots.

Moving it all along a bit, spreads/dilutes the effect;

and will let them delay having to do a re-surface, for a while longer...

  Just another bad band aid.
