Stem Cell Treatment

Has anyone had..(or know someone ) that has had this? I see that there are several clinics in BKK advertising it, & there is a Mayo Clinic there also, (the group that seem more advanced in this than most others)

I spoke to someone on another forum who knew someone who had successful treatment in  New Zealand.

But not a lot of info out there...or at least info that I can understand.

This YouTube with Mel Gibson (with someone from the Mayo Clenic) talking about his fathers treatment  was quite interesting.

Has anybody tried or consulted the Regeneration Center of Thailand?

A slick website: https://stemcellthailand.org/therapies/anti-aging-wellness-rejuvenation/ states they are 'licensed to perform medicine in Thailand' A closer look reveals that they deal with something called  "Makeover Escape Limited" to "offer medical services / diagnostics / devices / goods for purchase"

A disclaimer states "As we cannot control the information provided by Healthcare Providers made available through this Website, we do not guarantee or endorse the authenticity, quality, safety or legality of any Healthcare Provider or the services provided"

Sounds a bit dubious

You are being polite and restrained.

As offered, these miracle treatments are hucksterism. There is no empirical, no clear clinical evidence that it works. For a stem cell treatment to work, the stem cells must differentiate and become replacement cells for the diseased and damaged cells. This is difficult to achieve and is the holy grail for the treatment.

To obtain an indication of the viability of stem cell treatments, why not look at one treatment that is the easiest form and the one with the greatest success to date: Bone marrow transplants.  Outcomes in older patients 60 years+  are often measured in days. Younger patients can and do have normal lifespans.  Appreciably, these transplants are used to treat some very sick patients, and this influences the outcome. Young people are still growing and producing new  cells at a high rate. Not so old people.

If one is looking for a cure of age related illness, stem cell therapy it isn't going to help. The damage is done. Remember that as we age, cells are breaking down at a greater rate than they can be repaired and replaced. More errors are made in the replication of cells than ever before. This cannot be cured or stopped, because humans wear out. What we can do is take care of the machinery through proper nutrition, good hygiene and exercise.

This is why genetic related diseases such as autism, mental retardation, deformities etc. are associated  with the  progeny of older sperm and egg donors.  In plain language, this is why we often see the children of males aged 50 years+ having a higher rate of defect than the children of males aged 35 and younger. It is why we see a greater rate of Down Syndrome and intellectual deficit  in the children of mothers over the age of 35.
