Thai Visa From Laos?

Featured Replies

Dear All

In the last three months i've been in and out of Thailand 4 times, and have stayed for about 80 days total. In the next couple of days i will be going to Laos, and i wanted to know if i can get a 60 day tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Vientianne?

I will only be travelling through Thailand to malaysia, so it would be great if they would let me have the remaining 10 or so days to take me up to the maximum 90. Is this possible? Do i need to get a visa? or am i gonna get stuck in Laos?

Im so confused with the internet!

Thanks for your help

Ben

You should not have any problem getting a tourist visa. You may be able to obtain 8 or 10 days without visa but that would be more of a chance and you might be asked to obtain a visa rather than counting up the four entries/exits.

Thanks so much for the info. Do you know how long it takes to get a Thai visa if i just walk into the embassy in Vientianne? If it takes multiple days, do i have to leave my passport with them?

Thanks again

Ben

In the morning and out the next workday afternoon as with most Consulates. I assume they keep the passport (have never been there).

Once again, thanks for the info. Wish me luck. Anything out of the ordinary happens, i will let the forum know.

Cheers
