Hello,

Sorry if this question was covered but since the METV is only a couple years old I could not find my answer.

I have a current METV with a enter before date of 28 Feb 2018.

I will be traveling to KL and Nha Trang from Feb 3 to 10 th, 2018 from BKK.

When I come back to Thailand I will be stamped in for 60 days which should be April 10, 2018. I do currently have a ticket to USA via a few days in Dubai on April 17, 2018 already.

My question is since my enter before date is Feb 28 does that mean I will NOT be able to go to Chang Wattana ( I live in BKK) to extend my METV for 30 days for 1900 baht just before April 10th?  Also as noted I would need exactly 7 days more ( from April 10 to 17th) is there another option?

I may just leave Thailand the last week of March and come back on 30 day exempt until April 17 th  so I know that option.

Thank you for your help!!

When you re-enter you will be given 60 days permission to stay (April 10th by your maths).

You can extend that permission to stay by 30 days at CW.

The validity of your Visa and the validity of any permission to stay are separate.

Since Feb 10 is before 28 Feb (the expiry date of your visa) you can use it to enter Thailand on Feb 10 and receive a 60-day permission to stay. If you wish (and this may be the easiest solution to stay until April 17) you can extend your 60-day permission to stay for a further 30 days at an immigration office inside Thailand on payment of 1,900 baht.

you can do a 30 day extension in the last 7 days of your permission to stay stamp 1.900 baht , or do a fresh entry into Thailand before the 28th Feb

When I got my METV in Hull, the guy indicated that I could only get one of my 60 day stays extended.......is this true?

Absolutely not true.

No.

You can extend each 60 day permission to stay by 30 days.

If you exit and re-enter just before the ''enter before'' date you can get a further 60 + 30 days.

If used correctly you can stay almost 9 months on a METV.

Ignore what anyone at a Thai consulate tells you about anything other than the rules to get a visa at that location. This may seem counter-intuitive, but they receive zero training that qualifies them to give you such advice.
