Video: The morning after - pick-up crash site looks more like an airline accident

Villagers surveying the scene of a pick-up crash on Saturday morning found utter and complete carnage.

 

The debris resembled what you might expect at the scene of an aircraft crash.

 

The accident happened on Friday at about 11pm when a Mitsubishi pick-up crashed into a post and burst into flames.

 

The engine block was some distance from the crash and parts of the body of the vehicle were scattered over a wide area.

 

The driver was killed.

 

The post was made on Facebook by "Wang Jaroen Suphot" who said the accident happened at a bend on the Ban Don Kaew road heading to Nan.

 

The deceased was not named.

I didn't realise Mitsu could get up to the speed required to spread the wreckage like that !!!

It looked so authentic that 300 villagers showed up to loot the bodies and luggage?

Wow, that guy was Moving !!!!........The good news is that he only took himself out. Good job before he claimed the life of an innocent party.

Cant have been going very fast. Those posts fall over if you lean on them.

Probably depends on how much alcohol the driver has taken before flooring it!

I wild guess is that the driver's nickname was "Mitsubishi-racing".

It's one of the really big posts they use for high voltage wires. Loads of pre stressed steel in them. Plus the overhead cables aren't going to break easily.

None of them are just going to fall over, and take more than a car to knock one over.

What is that queen song? "Another one bites the dust" I love these Thai drivers . They show now fear of dying just like kamikaze pilots.  61 + and more to follow each day to heaven  

Not a complete wreck , one wheel looked sound and my guess is the logo on the wheel told them it was a Mitsubishi .  What a mess but the road to Nan is a little safer now.

With the good wheel, they can probaly resurrect the car back to use again.

The resurrection may have already taken place after a previous crash and this disintegration on impact maybe the result because of that resurrection. 

Lot of good roads here for getting some shut eye on the way to your destination.

Emotions require imagination, not high on Thai drivers' all-important lists - though very useful for their bucket lists.

Wow- some really class posts above. There's some sad people about

Pretty impressive, but not that surprising.  The engine mounts in these little things are nothing like the engine mounts of say a 1969 Ford xl with 390 big block.  Those older frame rails and motor mounts could take a lickin and keep on tickin.  I just bought a kia sorento with a V6 3.8 l, and the two front motor mounts are more designed to absorb vibrations then to anchor the motor.

Not any driver can create a crash site like this. Keep it up.

Why don't they just make trucks out of whatever the post was made of?
