Coming home up the 118 northbound from CNX. Say flashing headlights in my rear view mirror, so moved to the outside lane. Couple Ferraris, bunch of Porsches, and in the mix - a Camaro.

No doubt in my mind which was which. The comparison - a bunch of bees on Meth inside a sewing machine, or the Rumble of a V8. Immediately thought of this great song ...

 

To me engine sound is music to my ears....We have 3,4,5,6,8,10 and 12 pot rides to listen too. For me a hopped up 8 pot cannot be beaten in the sound department, but a 12 pot Ferrari on song is cool, and perhaps a Subaru 4 pot brings a smile...

One of the coolest sounding cars I've driven around was the Viper V-10....One of the ones with the side pipes before they made them look like weird looking Cameros with rear exhaust .....Nice throaty sound.....

A buddy of mine has a couple of Ford GTs and they give a nice agressive asphalt eating roar.....He also has an Avanti & a few other gems stashed away .....

The older ones with unequal length headers have the warble. Unfortunately Subaru has seemed to gone away from that.

Perhaps but in my case the radical cam and type of silencer really moved the sound goal posts...

Flat 6 naturally aspirated Porsche at full tilt - like banshees from hell.
