Thai Visa In Cambodia

Featured Replies

Somewhat silly question but.......is it possible to get a Thai visa in or around Siem Reap, or just at the border and Phenom Penh?

Thanks!

The only people who can obtain a Thai visa at the border would be those few countries allowed visa on arrival and the visa would be valid for only 15 days. In Cambodia the only place to obtain a Thai visa would be Phenom Penh and by most accounts they are not really interested in providing for non Cambodian applicants.

Lopburi, do you think not getting a tourist visa in PP is now a definite outcome? Maybe there are still a few being processed?? Is this embassy 100% out of the question now?

Has anyone obtained a tourist visa in Phnom Penh since October last year?

I don't believe it is zero percent but I would not be taking any chance if I really, really needed a visa. But we really have not had much reporting lately so not sure if that is because everyone is avoiding or they are not having a problem. Recent reports solicited.

I was in the embassy in PP last year applying for an education visa and had all the paper work in order.

After waiting all afternoon watching all the cambodians and a few westerners arrivng and leaving the guard turned the lights out and was preparing to lock up for the day whilst 3 of us were still waititng for someone to return our passports.

About half an hour later a grumpy official turned up and all 3 of us were interviewed separately. The other 2 were after tourist visas. We were all finally given them but he wrote in each of our passports this is the final time you can apply for a visa in PP.

He said this embassy was only for Cambodians to apply.

So it would be a gamble if you went to apply there as they could just as easily refuse the tourist visa as they did with me in Singapore 2 years ago.
