Another charge sought against Premchai

A National Parks and Wildlife Department official hands over Premchai's car to Thong Pha Phum police for forensic examination.

The National Parks and Wildlife Department has sought an additional charge of cruelty to animal against the president of Italian-Thai Development company, Premchai Karnasuta, who is already facing nine charges after his arrest at a wildlife sanctuary in Kanchanapisek province.

Premchai will be summonsed to meet police and defend the allegation this week, a source said.

He and three others suspects were apprehended last week after forest rangers found him camping in a prohibited area, along with the remains of protected animals including a black leopard. Hunting rifles were confiscated from the campsite.

While Premchai has refused to talk to reporters, his lawyer claimed his innocence, saying his client was lost in the woods and had bought the fresh meat police found hidden near the campsite from a vendor.

Forensic officials revealed that the endangered big cat was hit by eight bullets.

Meanwhile, Premchai’s Land Cruiser, which was found at the campsite, was handed over to Thong Pha Phum police on Tuesday for forensic examination.

Premchai had a close aide inform officials that his trip was for the purpose of “nature study”.

Alright... so in Thai national parks there are now "vendors" roaming through the jungle in order to peddle game meat to campers who are lost in the woods.

One really has to say, while the excuses Thai people cook up are often highly entertaining and hilarious, they are nevertheless easily recognizable as blatant lies. Compulsive liars they may be, but good liars they are certainly not.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that.

Don't forget the bigger liars are the lawyers: Those who tell the better story win the case.

Hmm, think it might work a little differently in Thailand. The one who offers the best deal might win for himself and the client can still be thrown under the bus.

Yes you're right.

Elsewhere the more expensive lawyers tends to tell the better story, but here they delegates someone untraceable to push the envelope the furthest.

The client under the bus probably didn't pay any extras - just the 'flat rate'.

It is all organised courtesy of the envelope. Like someone else we know he will be provided with a chauffeur driven car to the nearest border where he will take a "bathroom break" and never be seen again. That is until a photo appears of him standing under St. Peter's Basilica with the Chairman of Italian-Thai Development Co. or shopping somewhere in Rome with Yingluck and Thaksin.

Damn, this guy really has stumbled into the crosshairs. And it’s more and more looking as if the Junta has locked up on him as a convenient and cooperative ‘target of opportunity’.

They can make a big deal of throwing him out of the lifeboat…all the while claiming this as proof they’re tough on corruption.

Once this is out of the way…corruption…will have been soundly defeated. Then the Junta-ists can proudly put on their ‘serving the people’ halos and get back to the real business of enriching themselves at the country’s expense.

Anyone stupid enough to believe that utter rubbish is so dumb their opinion is unimportant.

If he was lost, why didn't he ask the meat vendor for directions? Given he was going camping, wouldn't it be normal to take supplies with you? Why would he feel the need to hide it?

Clearly he is wriggling and trying to put the fix in on matters. I sincerely hope he does not succeed and they throw the book at him. His contempt for Thai people in spouting such trash is almost on par with his contempt for animals and the law.

When one Hi So Thai goes to jail, people will begin to believe that they do have a judicial system, which to date has not been the case.

Well said, my sentiments exactly, bury the fat scrote.

As if things cannot get any worse for Mr Premchai investigators have discovered a dartboard which was concealed at the campsite.

Then he'll be linked to that nun dead in Haiti...

The real story is they were camping and this vicious black panther attacked them so it was self defense. They had to shoot the black panther 8 Times. Meanwhile some other bystander animals were accidentally shot in the fire storm.  ?

Congratulations!

You have just passed the bar exam to become a professional lier lawyer.
