Govt cooperates with all sectors to prepare Thai people for the 21st century

 

BANGKOK, 19 February 2018 (NNT) – The Government has cooperated with all sectors to get Thai people into the Thailand 4.0 scheme in preparation for the 21st century. 

Under this effort, the government will promote five basic thinking principles to link with virtues in accordance with the “Thai-ism” way in order to move the society toward prosperity. 

The subcommittee on preparing Thai people for the 21st century appointed by the Prime Minister has continued to join forces with the government and private sectors to cultivate the five thinking principles including sufficiency, discipline, honesty, public mind and responsibility in accordance with the Thai people 4.0 development plan under the Thailand 4.0 model. 

The five thinking principles will foster Thai people’s mental strength and improve their quality of life so that they will be able to solve their own problems in a more accurate way and refrain from all risk behaviors. 

Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has given great importance on the development of human resources as it is an important factor in developing the country.

They are at least 40-50 years behind the rest of the world, so no great surprise that they are late off the mark.

And given it is 2561, it could be argued they are hundreds of years behind.

Clearly such statements indicate that ministries have reached 1984 CE.

 

 21st century can’t be far away.

'Thai-ism' just means someone in power can make things up as they go along.

Infrastructure wise, Thailand is ready for 21st century. People and mindset, maybe still 19th century, not even 20. First step is reduce paper wastage.

Shouldn't education be on that list of theirs ?

If you want them to solve their own problems , they are going to need a good education.

Or is that being far too logical? (probably a rhetorical question!)

Just more rhetoric from the great pontificator. Of course nothing ever happens when it actually comes to having to do something.

Talk is cheap for this government whereas achievement is costly and involves intelligence, planning, hard work, ethics and dedication. This military government doesn't really seem to be bursting at the seams with people who have those qualities.

Different centuries according to the different areas of interest.

 

21st in the case of techno toys and "hardware".

 

But no later than the 18th anywhere else.

 

 

 

Coming from this bunch, I think the "honesty" principle is going to be a sizable problem...

The funny thing is that the junta fails on every single one of its five principles: they give no sign of 'sufficiency living' (witness all the watches and corruption), no discipline of any kind, no honesty, no concern for the wellbeing and welfare of the public, and certainly not a jot of 'responsibility' ('we are not responsible for the election delays - it is someone else's fault ...!').
