I wonder what NGO gave them the masks?  Really, how ingrained in the minds of the average Thai is the story of Pinocchio?  That's not quite a Thai cultural folk tale.

If they are learning stories I would like to also recommend 'The Emperor's New Clothes.'

Actually, the story of Pinocchio is very well known here, especially amongst Thai students (not least because of the Disney films). So we cannot assume that these are 'useful idiots' being duped or manipulated by some NGO. I think, rather, that they are very brave and principled individuals who are calling out the Thai D...Di....Dinosaur for what he really is.

" . . . in order to take the train; therefore, there should be enough parking space." What's this, then . . . Yuth-nocchio's new Friday night TV game show that we can all play from the comfort of our sitting rooms? He's got a great name for it, too . . . "Lie or No Lie?" . . . good, eh?

Yeh . . . wouldn't that be good. I can just picture him at Thusday's (?) press briefing, thinking that he's wearing one of his prettily patterned traditional Thai costumes. Yes . . . that would be sooo good!

Isn't that what he always says? Others might call it lies, I call it nonsense...

The strongest weapon against naysayers of a military junta is article $ 44 without laughter.

It's going to be interesting the closer we come to May 19.
I expect a big demonstration but let's see.

Unfortunately, a few hundred people protesting will not change the minds of the generals, so hopefully in the coming weeks, it is in the thousands. Until the middle class and office workers of Bangkok join in, they will not loose too much sleep.

What Thailand needs is a very charismatic hardworking and honest leader who is not aligned to either the reds or yellows. Thaksin was clever and hardworking but not honest. Abhisit was honest but no other attributes.

These young student leaders may  be the answer and one day in the future,  lead the nation out of the cycle of coups and constitution rewriting if the army and other elite institutions allow them to grow and develop instead of putting barriers.

Surely your right, not enough of the people are expressing their discontent....yet. But this movement seems to have legs and seems to be growing. Maybe, just maybe, this dictatorship will fall before the roots get deep enough to prevent it from getting a firm enough grip to sustain a lifetime of power. But...is there a future leader out there with the proper abilities and desire to lead?

I wonder who taught them to wear masks based on an Italian children's story and an American movie.

These protesters are neither random Thais nor student leaders, they are instead activists from the Thaksin controlled Puea Thai party who organised an event at the university.

We can only hope . . . and pray, maybe. There must be one, out there, somewhere. Question is, will he/she have the bottle to stand and confront 'the liar'?

Gotta love it!
