DPM Gen Prawit asks rallying groups to stop

BANGKOK, 1 March 2018 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has asked groups staging demonstrations seeking a general election to stop their movements' actions as the lead up to the poll has already begun.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, stated that since the government is already preparing to hold a general election, groups rallying for the vote to take place should cease their activities.

Asked if an announcement clarifying the timeframe for the election would help disperse the groups, Gen Prawit said that it was up to the groups themselves. He voiced confidence however that no third party will use the situation to stir up conflict and asked that the media help maintain unity.

Gen Prawit said he has not yet received any reports on the mid-year reshuffle of generals set to take place in April, but responded to speculation that Army Region 4 Commander Lt Gen Piyawat Nakwanich may ask to remain in his post until retirement by saying that it is possible and a decision is at the discretion of his superior officer.

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you avoid answering a question.

The problem with a military Junta is that decent in the ranks is not tolerated, they can't differentiate between Military and civil,  therefore draconian measures like in the military are enforced, then the people start giving them the finger and tell em to go where the sun don't shine , Pawtwit is now at that stage...................................................:cheesy:

Whenever the masses get all uppity demanding their "rights", the Junta passes them off as unintelligent people being manipulated by the "third hand" (read: Shinawatra).

If I'm wrong on this I'm sure a TVForum member will correct me, but is there not height restrictions for the Thai Military? Mrs Owl informed me yesterday that the lower limit was 1.6 metres. This dude is only 1.4!!!!!! Something amiss here! Something fishy indeed! Is someone falsifying data to get a high position?

Yes, a view based on their actual belief that ordinary folk - like the 66 million Thais - are as thick and devoid of ethics as they are. They, the 2P's that is, really are an act to behold and that they actually believe they are suitable material to head a world middle-power really does take the biscuit.

I believe the protest will only stop after the NLA passed all the pertaining organic laws followed by the dissolving of the NLA after royal approval. After which the junta announced an election date and enacted by royal endorsement and gazzetted. It’s the junta side of the bargain to put a stop to the rallies; not the protestors.

Section 3.4.4.6.2.3 of the Thai Military Handbook

"If the cadet does not meet the minimum height requirements, said cadet is permitted to stack 100 baht bills upon his head until such a time that he meets said height requirements."

Yes, he hates going anywhere near water - as he knows that the water would rush away from him, like the parting of the Red Sea - as it certainly does not want to come into contact with his lovely face and body -  and in any case no amount of water could ever wash this man clean!

Instead of stepping down, they continue their insanity. "Is already preparing to hold?"

Right! They have been 'preparing' to hold an election since 2014!

his version of 'preparing' seems to be a never-ending series of delays

Exactly. They have been preparing since 2015. This will be the most prepared election in all the history of elections anywhere.

Actually, they will still manage to mess it up...
