when to book my flight out

Featured Replies

UJoe, I'm trying to figure when to book my flight out.My 60 day visa stamp expire date is May 2 ,I will do a 30 day extension before that ,so that will bring me to May31.,correct? After that can I still get a 7 day extension from immigration ?

Day 1 of the 30 day extension will be May 3rd, regardless of how early you apply. Day 30 will be June 1st.

There is no 7 day extension as such. If you apply for another extension you’ll be given 7 days to leave the country.

So I would have to pay 1900 bht  with no 7 day stamp(because their isn't a 7 day extension)  and get a 500 bht a day fine for every day I'm over  June 1st

No. You wil be given 7 days to get out of town.  1,900 Baht.

No.

You pay 1,900 baht to apply for an extension of stay which is declined. They then stamp your passport saying the extention is declined and give you 7 days to leave the country. No overstay or fine.

If in a non-B visa, is there any way to apply for an extension with the purpose of having it denied and receiving 7 days to leave? I'm in a pickle with local immigration office refusing to accept my application for a year extension for employment until after my permission to stay ends. I don't want an overstay stamp in my passport, and can't this quickly leave the country. But if there is an easy way to get the 7 days, it wil give me enough time to leave without an official overstay.

Could I just walk in, ask for an extension based on retirement, then noting I'm not nearly old enough, get denied and get 7 days? Or will they just turn me away?

Yes, but that will invalidate your NON-B and you have to go abroad to get a new non-B.

Think they want you to pay 5000 baht and you'll be OK, like old times on Samui.
