mikejphuket
I am a dinosaur who is thinking about buying a new pick up to replace my 2003 one. I have driven a few other vehicles and really can't stand being buzzed at when: I don't have my seat belt on, when I am reversing and maybe a few others. Headlights on I can live with. It it possible to buy a quiet p/up these days and/or can a skilled mechanic shut the damn things off? Otherwise, does anyone have a quiet p/up in good shape they want to sell? giddyup
Are these buzzers really that annoying? My Triton gives a little ping if a door is left open, and lights of course, but nothing warns me that my seat belt isn't fastened except a light on the dash. Reverse is silent except for the sensors that warn me I'm too close. Those pings or buzzers are for your safety, pretty silly to turn them off IMO.
canthai55
They can be disconnected. Find the buzzer and pull the plug. Some models will need a jumper inline to provide a load signal so you do not have the dash warning light on all the time.

Thank you, I was hoping could be so simple
VocalNeal
Find the buzzer and stick a bit of electrical tape over the aperture where the sound comes out.

Even easier! Will try on a noisy car and see how it works.
