Nigel Garvie
Can anyone recommend a good Doctor/ Hospital unit in Chiang Mai, that specialises in Liver problems? I have HCC which cannot be operated on though I remain in overall good health. However the excellent treatment I have received in UK has reached it's limits (Finance, Protocols etc). I am well aware that in India, and I hope/imagine here also, a broader range of options is available.
Sheryl
The range of options here will not be wider, I'm afraid, it will l be somewhat smaller than in the UK. And depending on what type of treatment, costs may be substantial. If you have never received systemic chemotherapy then this trial might be worth looking into. In clinical trials, all the treatment is free. They are no longer recruiting for patients in Thailand but the UK trials re still recruiting. (If you have already received sorafenib. then you are not eligible.) https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02562755 https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/study/NCT02562755?show_locs=Y#contacts In terms of doctors in Chiang Mai, I suggest: Dr. Kannika Phornphutkul at Rajavej Hospital http://www.rajavejchiangmai.com/# The English language version of that website seems not working but if you scroll to the bottom you will get the telephone number and email. Can also see it on map here https://www.facebook.com/rajavejchiangmai.hospital/ She specializes in HCC and trained in US and is highly regarded
