Has anyone over here tried to get out of don mueng airport with 100gm of bullion gold without any checking or any extra pay ?

You make it sound like you're trying something iffy.

 

100g gold (about 6.5 Baht), worth about USD 4,300 is well under the must-declare level (USD 20k IIRC), if you don't have a load of cash too just walk on through.

 

Of course when you arrive at your home country it's a whole new ball game (but likely still no issue) ...

I've always been under the impression that exporting gold out of Thailand was illegal.

 

Am I mistaken in my belief or has something changed?
