April 19, 200719 yr yeah but, I've found that often stickin a knife, or a fork into the socket's "earth" willl allow you to jam the plug in all the same. I, for one, would love to capture the exact moment on chownah's face when he realises he has finished his last beer for the evening.
April 19, 200719 yr Author All well and good.Until you discover the electric power plug is the wrong type to fit the power socket. Yeah! They've got one million amps circulating with an average radius of 0.85 metres (more or less) being pushed by up to about 15 million watts......they need to be sure the plug is the right way around....I think they have a Phd whose sole purpose in life is to make sure of this but don't know for sure. You may be surprised to learn that one of the early methods for maintaining a good spark was to get the current going really well and then reversing the polarity quickly (change the plug around the other way quickly I guess) but there are inherent limitations to this approach and they are studying different approaches to maintain a dense hot spark for a long time.
